The dices are fallen and FoE will resist, but in the last 2 years not much happens at FoE - so it is clear that something should change.
Since the used Web-System is not up-to-date, and there are *many* unsolved issues with it, i will change this. Since this is not an easy step (technicaly it is just an installation of a new software, but this is like an "cold restart") and there will be many things to do - not only on the technical side.
Should the forum-topics migrated? If yes, all of them? Just specific forums or topics?
The downloads must imported from the old system, the FAQs some articles ...
The new system should be tested, some new Modules must programmed (so, it is time for Dicey v2, since the old Dicey will definitly not survive the generation change.
If you read this and you think something like "hey, this sound interesting. Let us do some work for FoE and for the whole community." - don t hesitate and reply, write down your ideas, your strengths and your prospects.
If we find at least a small group of people, who are interested, then FoE s star will shine again on the horizon.

Okay, now in german ...
In den letzten Jahren ist bei FoE nicht viel passiert und es muss sich was tun. 3 mal wurde die Seite gehacked, aufgrund von Sicherheitslücken von dem eingesetzten Web-System. Es hat noch weitere Unzulänglichkeiten - hier ist gibt es Handungsbedarf.
Neben dem technischen, gibt es auch reichlich nicht technisches zu tun und zu diskutieren. Wird das Forum übernommen, oder nur bestimmte unterforen oder nur bestimmte Topics? Welche? Die Downloads müssen übertragen werden, FAQs, Artikel, etc.
Das ganze muss getestet werden, neue Module entwickelt, etc, etc ...
Ich denke wenn sich eine kleine Gruppe von Leuten findet, können wir FoE wieder auf vordermann bringen.
Btw. Dicey wird den "switch" nicht überleben! - Dicey v2 wird hier das Licht der Spielerwelt erblicken.
Wer immer jetzt denkt "Hey, das hört sich interessant an. Lass uns arbeit in FoE investieren und damit letztendlich der Community helfen.", der ist aufgefordert seine Ideen, seine Stärken und sein Erwartungen kundzutun - und es sollte zudem bereit sein selber Hand anzulegen (das ist nicht technisch gemeint).

Okay. FoE will switch in the next weeks onto new servers. On the new servers we will have much more performance, more space and more features. After the existing FoE Site is switched, i ll immediatly install the new system and start implementing Dicey 2 into it (shouldnt be to hard).
Till this happens, we can discuss some things. e.g. the new Community Forums. I don t think there is need for such a mass of sub-forums. Just a handfull:
- FoE all about FoE
- Axis & Allies all about A&A and all Variants
- Misc all about non A&A games
- German Speaking for us germans
If there is need for more different sections, it is no problem to create new sections.
